As India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Monday, 10 June, his wife actress Hazel Keech penned an Instagram post and called it the “end of an era”.

Hazel’s post read “And, with that, it’s the end of an era. Be proud of yourself husband, now onto the next chapter.... love you @yuvisofficial”.

It also got the attention of Yuvraj’s rumoured ex-partner actress Kim Sharma, who lauded him for his achievements on the field.

"Shine brighter you lovely duo," Kim wrote on Hazel's post.

She also took to her own Twitter account and wrote: "Well played Yuvraj. A standing ovation for some unforgettable moments in sport. May your next phase be as smashing with Hazel."

Yuvraj and Kim reportedly dated for a couple of years before splitting in 2007.

Starting off in 2000 during the ICC KnockOut Trophy, Yuvraj last played a Test match for India in 2012 and featured in a limited overs series in 2017.

After the 37-year-old cricketer announced his retirement during a media interaction in Mumbai, Hazel went on to reveal how he got really emotional, after he was recalled to the Indian T20 side for the three-match series against Australia in early 2016.

“When he was selected to play for India before our wedding, and his suitcase and kit arrived, he was crying. I obviously don’t understand what that feels like, and I don’t think anyone does except the players who played for India, those were picked and dropped. I just remember him saying, ‘Never again did I imagine that I will play for India again’,” she said.
