Sebastien Bellin, who plays with the Gent Hawks and is a member of the Belgium basketball team, was injured in the Brussels airport bombings on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old reportedly flew 65 feet in the air, before falling. He has undergone his first surgery after the blast, which left him with serious leg and hip injuries.
His former professional club, BC Telenet Oostende, tweeted out a picture of Bellin in the aftermath of the bombings showing him on the floor, his jeans tattered and his left leg bleeding profusely.
The team is providing information about his condition over Twitter and wished him a speedy recovery.
