Twitter Erupts as Indian Hockey Team Demolish Indonesia 17-0

The Indian Hockey team announced its arrival in style at the Asian Games by thrashing host nation Indonesia by a margin of 17-0 on Monday, 20 August.

Indians got off to a flying start against the Indonesia in the first minute of the match after Rupinder Pal Singh converted from a set-piece situation.

The barrage of goals and goal scoring opportunities kept continuing as the men in blue fired in 5 goals in the first quarter of the match.

By half time India led 9-0 with Rupinder and Dilpreet scoring two goals apiece.

By the final whistle, India destroyed the opponent 17 goals to nil, with Simranjeet, Mandeep and Dilpreet bagging hattricks.

Twitter erupted after the final whistle to congratulate India’s biggest win in recent times.
