Vijender Singh won his eighth professional bout after beating former World Champion Francis Cheka at New Delhi on Saturday. The fight lasted for just two rounds and one minute 56 seconds as in the third round, Vijender effected a major blow on his opponent’s nose.

Cheka was severely hurt after the hit and decided to leave the ring. Vijender won the fight via knockout and retained his WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title, which he won after beating Kerry Hope at New Delhi in July.

Earler, in the first round, Vijender Singh decided to step back and look at his options of attack, while Francis Cheka managed to get a few hits on his opponent’s body, but in the next round, Vijender used his learning from the first round and got quite a few points against his name.

The Olympic bronze medallist moved brilliantly in the second and third round. Cheka could hardly get his hands on India’s boxing star.
