Roadies is the longest running cult reality show – and is undoubtedly the country’s most popular one. Two weeks into the exciting motoring sojourn of Renault MTV Roadies Rising, let’s have a look at the contestants who are living their dream of becoming the ultimate roadie.
Rannvijay’s Gang
1. Samar Sarkar – Hailing from the calm city of Guwahati, Samar Sarkar, quite like the city he belongs to, is calm and composed. Samar is a fitness freak and an MMA expert. He impressed the gang leaders with his resilience during the auditions and was selected by his idol Rannvijay to be a part of his gang.
2. Shiv Manohar Thakare – Shiva Manohar Thakare is an innocent, humorous and likable ‘marathi manus’. Shiv has come a long way and worked extremely hard to rise from his humble beginnings.
3. Agnelo Peter Carvalho – Agnelo Peter Carvalho, lovingly called Aggy, is a googly from Rannvijay’s gang. Agnelo is quite an infectious personality to have around you. Apart from that, Agnelo has a body to die for and was Mr India ‘perfect body’ title winner from Goa.
4. Veerpal Dhaliwal – Another googly from Rannvijay’s gang, Veerpal apparently likes to scream a lot. Yes, we are not kidding you! Veerpal is a tad bit immature and childish but she’s a die-hard fan of Rannvijay and Roadies.
5. Samyukta Hegde – Samyukta is barely 18 and the youngest contestant on the show. Not only that, the girl is quite an all-rounder donning multiple hats at the same time. Much to everyone’s surprise, Samyukta is a Kannada actress and knows 10 dance forms. Phew! She’s been Rannvijay’s fan since childhood and she’s living her dream on Roadies.
Prince’s Gang
1. Minal – Smart and level-headed, Minal is one of the strongest contestants in Prince’s gang. Minal is a dancer and a quick learner and earns her own living and even supports her family. You go girl!
2. Baseer Ali – A googly from Prince’s gang, Baseer Ali is 21 and is a cool Hyderabadi YouTuber. Fondly known as Baseer Bhai in his locality, Baseer’s YouTube channel, Habibiz Vines has gained him a lot of popularity already. His confidence and charm will surely work wonders for him on Roadies, or rather, has already started working wonders!
3. Varun Verma – A sight for sore eyes, Varun Verma is undoubtedly the most good- looking guy on Roadies this year around. Having won the title of Mr India, Varun is already making the audience sweat with that hot bod!
Neha’s Gang
1. Shane Luke – Shane Luke is a footballer from Neha’s gang and knows how to perform some incredible tricks with his football. Hailing from a heroic background where his grandfather was one of the first armed forces officers to win ‘Sena Medal’, Shane is definitely one of the strongest contestants on Roadies.
2. Rakhi Lohchab – Rakhi Lohchab is a spunky, fiery and feisty Haryanvi girl. As opposed to her petite demeanour, Rakhi is strongly opinionated and can take anyone for a ride.
3. Shweta Mehta – A fighter in every sense of the word, Shweta Mehta has transformed herself ever since she auditioned for Roadies X1. Shweta is a body builder and a bikini athlete and has even represented our country in the Asian Championship. Isn’t that amazing?
Nikhil’s Gang
1. AM Chiranjeevi – A lungi clad priest from Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi is a googly from Nikhil's gang. This hardworking guy had become a priest to support his family, and has come to Roadies to fulfil his dream of becoming popular. Chiranjeevi had lost 15 kilos from auditions till the show’s start, in preparation for Roadies Rising. Kudos!
2. Rahul – Rahul is a happy-go-lucky guy from Nikhil’s gang. He’s a DTC bus conductor and has impressive yoga skills. Rahul is quite an inspiration for others and has set an example for people who are really keen on achieving their dream.
3. Khushnuma Pathan – Khushnuma Pathan is a googly from Nikhil’s gang. This 18-year-old pint-sized powerhouse comes with a lot of attitude and is known for speaking her mind out. A tad bit childish and “Moofat”, she definitely looks promising.
4. Priyank Sharma – Undoubtedly the cutest guy on MTV Roadies Rising, Priyank Sharma wooed the judges with his dance moves and Neha with his dimples. Despite his lean frame, Priyank proved his mettle to the gang leaders by lifting the strongest man in India on his shoulders during the auditions.
5. Prabhjot Kaur Sidhu – Prabhjot Kaur Sidhu is a head-strong Sikhni. She’s a news anchor from Nikhil’s gang and doesn’t let anyone mess with her head. Prabhjot had even got into a physical spat with Veerpal from Rannvijay’s gang – during the auditions – in order to prove herself.
