‘STREE, the Woman’: A Celebration of Her Soul

An initiative by Sipping Thoughts and supported by Ferns N Petals, ‘STREE’ focuses on self-growth, self-empowerment and most importantly self-love. It is a one-day event to be held at Pavilion on 5 August 2019, to celebrate women.

The day will be packed with workshops and interactive discussions by inspiring personalities, Buddhist hymns and chants by famous Buddhist Nun Ani Choying.

Ms Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Minister of Women’s Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh will be the Chief Guest of the event.

Stree is the hindi term for a woman. A woman who is empowered, who is aware, who has the strength, knowledge and courage and one who is divided in multiple roles.

This initiative of Sipping Thoughts aims to bring out a Stree in one and all without gender disparity.

Being socially responsible and an ardent believer of women empowerment, Ms Meeta Gutgutia, Director, Ferns N Petals & Co-Founder, Sipping Thoughts has conceptualised this event.

Speaking about the occasion, she said, “I think it’s time to free ourselves from all the prejudices and stereotypes. Stree has always been nurturing everyone else. It’s time to give back and come together to nurture the soul of women. This festival is an initiative where we will celebrate everyday woman.”

Sukriti Gupta, Co-Founder, Sipping Thoughts, reiterated that a thought is all that it takes to change the world.

She added, “This event gives women an opportunity to connect, inspire and support each other. It is our honour to curate such event with inspiring keynotes by influential leaders.”

Internationally acclaimed Singing Nun-Ani Choying Drolma, Laxmi Agarwal, Malini Ramani, Liza Verma, Ambika Pillai, Nandini Gulati, Sandip Soparrkar and Varun Katyal are some of the key speakers. There will be conversations around what it means to be Stree.

The event will be supporting Humans for Humanity for its ‘Menstrual hygiene project’ and Nun’s Welfare Foundation of Nepal. Women from all walks of life will be part of this celebration.
