Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmaker Amanatullah Khan’s sister-in-law stood by the charges of sexual harassment she had levied against him, even as Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the party will not accept his resignation.

Sisodia had rejected the MLA’s resignation as it came after a complaint of eve-teasing filed by his sister-in-law. He deemed it a ‘family matter’.

Khan’s sister-in-law had approached the Jamia Nagar police station alleging that Khan had put pressure on her to indulge in a sexual relationship with him.

She had also accused her husband of demanding dowry and building pressure on her to get intimate with Khan.

Khan had on Saturday written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal apprising him of his resignation from the Waqf Board and all the other government positions that he held.

I have been working wholeheartedly to serve the people of Delhi. As Waqf chief, I had unearthed several shortcomings of the previous government. But some people are not liking my honesty and dedication.
