Voting for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections began in 71 constituencies across 9 states on Monday, 29 April including the city of Mumbai, where politicians, Bollywood celebrities and business personalities have come out vote in large numbers.
The enthusiasm of the Maximum City shone bright with Rekha, Urmila Matondkar, Paresh Rawal, and Priyanka Chopra having already gotten their fingers inked. Priyanka Chopra even tweeted a picture of herself.
“This is the moment that matters.... Every vote is a voice that counts. #LokSabhaElections2019,” wrote Priyanka on Twitter.
Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit cast her vote in Juhu. She also took to Twitter to urge people to vote. “Voting is our right, let's use it wisely! The future of our country is in our hands. Let's do our duty and #VoteForIndia,” she tweeted.
Shah Rukh Khan, wife Gauri and son AbRam were spotted at the voting booth.
Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone were all smiles after casting their votes.
Ranbir Kapoor showed off his inked finger to the cameras.
Salman Khan shared his inkfie on Instagram.
Ranveer Singh was spotted at the polling booth with his father and later put out an inkfie on Instagram.
The Bachchan Family: Amitabh, Abhishek, Jaya & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came out to vote together.
After Madhuri Dixit and Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao, Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Sonali Bendre, and Dia Mirza stepped out to cast their votes.
With the day progressing, more and more celebrities are turning up to cast their votes. From Varun Dhawan to Twinkle Khanna, Soha Ali Khan Pataudi and others, the Bollywood industry gathered at polling booths. “Be cool go vote”, Varun Dhawan wrote on Instagram.
“ VOTE MUMBAI !!!!!! #loksabhaelections2019”, wrote Malaika Arora.
Farhan Akhtar posted a selfie of his inked finger on Instagram, and captioned it, “ Do the right thing. Go VOTE. #greatestdemocracyintheworld #citizen #lovemyIndia.”
