A few days after the #NotInMyName protests were held in several cities across India, another protest was held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on 2 July.
People from Nuh, Ballabhgarh, Faridabad and other places in Haryana lent their voices. Representatives of Dalit organisations too were in attendance.
Alwar lynching victim Pehlu Khan’s eldest son, Irshad, who was present at the protest, silently shared his grief with Ballabhgarh lynching victim Junaid’s father Jalaluddin at Jantar Mantar.
Previously, neither of the family members of the victims of the two lynching incidents had attended the protests.
