On his Twitter profile Tushar Atre described himself as an entrepreneur, surfer and mushroom forager who is always on the go. Pictures on his instagram account only support these claims.

The Indian origin tech millionaire, Tushar Atre, founder of AtreNet Inc was kidnapped from his house in California’s Santa Cruz area and later found dead in his BMW car under mysterious circumstances. The cause of death has not been identified yet.

Nature Lover

Atre's social media profile clearly brings out his passion for scenic beauty. Photos on Instagram show that the techie was a devoted mushroom forager.

“Up and at ’em early for #surfing. There’s nothing like starting your day off with the rush of the ocean. It’s better than coffee,” he wrote on Twitter in 2017.

His company's website says that 'When he’s not pushing his team to bend the limits of quality, speed, and value to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients, you can find Tushar surfing in Santa Cruz'.

Literature Enthusiast

The tech giant graduated from New York University in 1992 with a degree in literature.

'Kind and Spiritual Person'

Those who knew Tushar Atre commented on his Instagram page by describing the 50-year-old entrepreneur as a kind and spiritual person, full of life and energy.

‘Thank you for your energy and may you carry your zest and passion into the next realm. Go big Tushar, you always have,’

Mean Boss?

While many people had positive things to say about Tushar Atre, the reviews on Glassdoor, a website where current and former employees anonymously review companies, paint a different picture.

'The CEO Tushar Atre doesn't value anyone but himself. He once likened employees to break pads - you push on them as hard as you can and when you have used them, you replace them. I do not recommend this company as an employer or client. There is no respect for anyone,'claims one person on the site.

‘Tushar wants you to sacrifice your personal integrity, that he doesn’t have, and manipulate Atrenet team or clients to get what you want and show who has an upper hand. Says the most condescending things to men and women, tyrannical to anyone he thinks is below him,’ said another reviewer.

Although Tushar Atre has personally responded to the criticism, it clearly tells us that the techie wasn't a favourite among his employees.
