Playboy has reversed its decision to abstain from nudity – a one-year ban that it had imposed on its print edition in order to reach out to mainstream advertisers. On Monday, the 63-year-old magazine tweeted out its March/April 2017 cover with the hashtag #NakedIsNormal.
This comes four months after Cooper Hefner became the chief creative officer. Cooper, the son of Hugh Hefner, tweeted out on Monday that the way in which the magazine portrayed nudity was dated, but removing it entirely was a mistake.
Reportedly, the decision can be attributed to a plunge in subscription sales that the rise in newsstand sales could not make up for.
