Sabeen Mahmud, a humans rights activist in Pakistan, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Karachi on Friday night, the Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, reports.
Mahmud who was the director of the human rights NGO, ‘The Second Floor’, was shot by unidentified gunmen while on her way home from a session regarding Baluchistan and human right violations taking place there.
The Dawn says that she died on the way to the hospital.
Moments before she was shot she had tweeted about the session on Baluchistan and shared a picture on Instagram that she had taken there:
Her mother, who was accompanying her was also shot and is said to be in a critical condition.
