A hair-raising video of a British Airways aircraft bouncing off the runway, during an attempt to land but going back in the air has gone viral on social media and garnered over 3 million views on Twitter.
The aircraft was flying from Hyderabad to Heathrow and had to abort landing due to strong winds over the airport, according to reports.
Twitterati applauded the pilot for how he handled the situation.
In a statement, British Airways said, “Our highly skilled pilots regularly train to conduct the standard manoeuvre known as a 'go around'. The aircraft circled the airport and landed safely.”
The flight landed in Heathrow on Friday, 8 January after a delay of 18 minutes.
