- The legal woes for former prime minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia (70) took a turn for the worse, with two fresh chargesheets against her over violence during last year’s anti-government agitation.
- Six charges in total have been filed against Zia over the violence in 2015, which saw massive agitation and a death toll of around 100, mostly in arson attacks on passenger buses in Bangladesh.
- Zia and 50 other leaders and activists of Bangaldesh Nationalist Party were charged in Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court on 29 May.
