In the wake of the Islamic State’s series of attacks in Paris, the French government will table a bill to extend the state of emergency in the country by three months.

French President Francois Hollande has announced an increased presence in Syria, parts of which are under the ISIS control, to fight the terrorist organisation.

In a major step, Hollande has also proposed amendments to the French Constitution to fight terrorism, according to The Guardian.

Hollande added that the French government will discontinue French citizenship of dual citizens suspected of terrorism.

We are confronting an organisation, IS, that controls a large amount of territory, financial resources and military capabilities.

Hollande has also called for a United Nations Security Council meeting in the coming days.

France has been an ally to the United States of America in carrying out air strikes in ISIS stronghold areas in the recent past.

In a video threatening the French government, ISIS had said that the November 13 attack was in retaliation to these air strikes.

At the G20 summit in Turkey on Monday, President of the United States, Barack Obama announced complete support of the G20 nations to the French government in stepping up anti-ISIS measures.
