US President Donald Trump has been hospitalised after having tested positive for COVID-19. He and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, 2 October, soon after one of their closest White House aide tested positive for the virus.

In an 18-second video posted on Trump’s official twitter handle, the US President confirmed that he was being flown by helicopter to the Walter Reed military hospital outside Washington.

Trump had announced on Twitter on Friday that he had contracted the virus.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” he tweeted.
