British Prime Minister David Cameron has decided to put his differences aside with London Mayor Sadiq Khan regarding Britain’s membership in the European Union (EU). The two have made a joint call about staying in the EU while opposition against Cameron within his own party continues to increase.

Cameron’s decision triggered internal dissent with many Tory MPs demanding his resignation if the country votes in favour of staying in the EU.

A couple of weeks ago, Cameron had repeatedly accused Khan of appearing with Muslim extremists. However, the former seems to have altered course a bit as he says:

We love our country and we want our country to be the best it possibly can. I’m proud to be here with the Labour mayor of London.

Khan responded to the development involving Cameron’s support and said that though there may be many things the two of them would disagree upon but “when it’s in London’s interest for the mayor of London and the government to work closely together, we will work closely together.”
