VIDEO NOT FROM WEST BENGAL, BUT FROM BANGLADESH

When we searched the term 'Tongi clash' on Google, we came across a Dhaka Tribune report dated 1 December, which stated that a series of clashes had occurred at the Bishwa Ijtema grounds in Bangladesh's Tongi after two factions of Tablighi Jamaat attempted to assert their dominance at the grounds.

The clashes had reportedly broken out between Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, a top scholar from the Indian Tablighi Jamaat, and Maulana Jubayer's supporters.

According to Dhaka Tribune, the clashes occurred after Maulana Saad's supporters attempted to enter the grounds even as Maulana Jubayer's supporters had staked claim at the grounds. The clashes had resulted in the death of at least one person and had left over 200 others injured in their wake.
