An image of a young man and an elderly lady is doing the rounds with a claim that it shows a 21-year-old man named 'Mohammad Irfan', who allegedly married his own grandmother.
What did the viral post say?: Sharing the image, an X (formerly Twitter) premium user said, "In a Shameful and Shocking incident, a 21-year-old Mohammad Irfan from Haryana married his own Grandmother, Sultana Khatoon, breaking all boundaries of familiar relationships..."
What are the facts?: The video is actually scripted and does not show a real incident. We found the same man was seen appearing in different such videos as well.
How did we find that out?: The Quint's WebQoof had previously debunked the same video in December 2022, when it was shared as a real incident of a young man marrying an elderly woman.
The full version of the viral clip was uploaded on 20 November 2022 with a caption that loosely translated to, "Love between a 52 year old woman and a 21 year old boy."
At that time, we had found several responses in the 'comments' section, where users claiming that the video was fake and that the man seen in it have appeared in other clips as well.
Actors in the video: Multiple users shared screenshots in the comments, which showed the same man featured in different videos. This indicated towards the possibility of him being an actor.
Team WebQoof found a video uploaded on a Facebook handle named 'subha_sh1795', which showed the same man seen in the viral clip playing a different character.
