A pair of pictures have gone viral online showing Bollywood actor Salman Khan with Monalisa Bhosle, a 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district.
Bhosale went viral on social media after going to Prayagraj's Maha Kumbh mela to sell rudraksha garlands.
How did we find out the truth?: We noticed errors in the image, for example, Khan's face was deformed in the bigger image.
We then checked Khan's official Instagram account and found the original images shared on 14 May 2023 on the occasion of Mothers' day.
The original images showed Khan posing with his mother, Salma Khan.
Here's a comparison between the real and the fake images.
We also ran the image on AI-detection tools, Hive Moderation and SightEngine, which detected face manipulation to be over 99 percent.
Moreover, we did not find any reports about the two meeting in person.
Conclusion: Edited photos are going viral to claim that Salman Khan met Mosalisa Bhosale, the girl who went viral from Prayagraj's Kumbh mela.
