Viral Video Claiming Man Being Beaten Up by Indian Jawan Is Wrong
The man beating up the victim has a Pakistani flag on his uniform.
A Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir on Friday, 21 September, tweeted a video of a man being pinned down on a cot, and being beaten up horrifically.
The journalist claimed that the man was tortured in Kashmir and that one can “understand why India was not ready for talks” with Pakistan.
The journalist’s tweet was retweeted more than 12,000 times, and has gone viral.
A Pakistani singer Rabi Pirzada retweeted Mir by stating that no Indian “will support” this torture, and called also called for “stopping this torture” in Kashmir.
Is the Man Really Being Tortured in Kashmir?
However, according to SMHoaxSlayer, the man beating up the victim is, ironically, a Pakistani man.
On zooming in one can see that the man who is thrashing the victim is wearing a Pakistani flag on his chest and is also wearing a uniform.
In the video, you can see this part from 17 seconds to 21 seconds.
Video Went Viral in Pak Earlier
The verified account of Baloch Republican Party Spokesperson Sher Mohammad Bugti tweeted the same video almost three months ago, on 5 July 2018.
In the tweet, he claimed that the Pakistan Army physically tortured a Baloch student.
This tweet was also widely circulated on social media.
YouTube also has different versions of the video, reported SMHoaxSlayer.
Therefore, while one cannot confirm the reason for the man being trashed by the men in uniform, it is clear that the perpetrators are Pakistani people and not Indian soldiers.
