A video showing multiple explosions going off as people run to take cover has gone viral on social media, where users have linked it to the recent armed conflict between India and Pakistan amid Operation Sindoor.
The claims: Some users have shared the video to claim that it shows Pakistan attacking and destroying Indian military bases.
How did we find out the truth?: Running a reverse image search on the viral video led us to an opinion piece published by news organisation Al Jazeera on 11 November 2023, which carried a screenshot of the viral video.
The report was about Israel bombing hospitals in Gaza, with the photo's caption noting that it was on 10 November and showed bombing in northern Gaza.
We looked for more information regarding this video on Al Jazeera's YouTube channel, where we found their report on the Indonesia Hospital being bombed in Gaza.
One can see the same visuals as seen in the viral claim starting at the 5:07-minute mark in their report.
The Quint's Team WebQoof had recently debunked a similar claim surrounding this video, when it was falsely shared as a video of the Indian Army's attack on Sialkot, Pakistan.
Conclusion: An old video from Gaza has gone viral on social media, where users have linked it to the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor.
