Old Video From Karachi Falsely Shared as Recent Visuals of Kerala Floods

We found out that the video is unrelated to the current Kerala floods and dates back to 2025.

A video is going viral on the internet, falsely claiming to show visuals of the Kerala floods. 

• The video shows a man falling off a bike and being carried away by the water.

Is it true?: No, the video dates back to 2025 and is from Karachi, Pakistan. It does not show recent visuals of the Kerala floods.

How did we find out?: We ran a reverse image search on the video using Google Lens and found videos uploaded in 2025 that shared the same visuals.

• One of the videos, uploaded on 22 August 2025, mentions the location as Karachi, Pakistan.

• We found two other videos, uploaded on 20 August 2025, where the locations were mentined as Shahrah-e-Faisal and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, which are both locations in Karachi, Pakistan.

• We then looked for more videos showing flooding in Karachi from August 2025 and found a video on YouTube that showed on of the hoardings seen in the viral video.

Conclusion: The video is from 2025 and does not show recent visuals of the Kerala floods but shows flooding in Karachi, Pakistan.
