A post with a visual of an injured child, covered in blood, is being shared on social media platforms as a recent incident in Myanmar.
The claim: The photo is being shared to claim that a child has been injured by drone attacks conducted by the Indian Army on Myanmar.
The post is captioned "India conducted a massive drone strike inside Myanmar, killing multiple Children, women and displaced people." (sic.)
Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.
The photo dates back to October 2021 and is from the Moe-Bye area in Myanmar.
We ran another keyword search and found a report on the Progressive Voice Myanmar website with the same visuals dated 26 October 2021.
It revealed that the Moe-bye based Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 422 fired artillery shells into Moe-bye town, fatally injuring a woman in the head, and six other civilians, including children.
We also found the same visuals posted on the Facebook page of Moe-Bye Rescue Team in 2021.
What's happening between India and Myanmar?:
As per CNI Myanmar report, the United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent said in a statement that these alleged attacks have killed three of their leaders and injured many others in the Hoyat village region on the morning of 13 July.
The News On Air report noted that Indian Army categorically denied its involvement in any operations that caused these fatalities and injuries. It mentioned that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma denies the involvement of the state police.
According to the Indian Express, the attacks took place at camps along the Indo-Myanmar border on 13 July, and its "Lieutenant General" Nayan Medhi alias Nayan Asom was killed and another 19 were injured.
Conclusion: The claim is false as the visual from 2021 predates the alleged recent attacks in Myanmar.
