What we found: At first, we divided the viral clip into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.

  • We came across a Facebook post from October 2023 (all the posts on this page dated back to 2023.)

  • This indicated that the video was not recent or related to the ongoing Israel and Iran tensions.

  • We, then, came across a CBN news report dated 16 October 2023 that included the footage from the viral video.

  • These reports noted an incident about a fact-finding mission led by Israeli UN ambassador and former Knesset (Israeli parliament) member Danny Danon in Sderot on 15 October 2023.

  • The report noted that amid the fact-finding mission to Sderot in October 2023 after the then Hamas attack on Israel, the delegation witnessed an air raid siren and had to take shelter to protect themselves.

  • We also came across a report by the Times of Israel which included a post by journalist Joel Rosenberg from 15 October 2023.

  • It also noted that Sderot witnessed a rocket attack when Danon was visiting with the delegation.

Conclusion: An old and unrelated clip has gone viral to falsely claim that it shows an Israeli minister running amid Iranian air raids.
