In the run-up to the Pakistan elections, a year-old online article carrying a video that claims to show the ex-wife of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan kissing an American man while hosting a TV show has resurfaced. However, the article as well as the video are false.
The article, titled ‘Reham Khan Kissing Scandal Video’, states that Reham Khan, who has hosted several shows across the globe, kissed a man while on an American TV show. It further claims that Khan was severely criticised for her act. The video has been in circulation since 2015.
However, a fact-check by AFP shows that the video is, in fact, that of a Fox News TV show from 31 December 2014, where the host Kimberly Guilfoyle was challenged to kiss her co-host Bob Beckel at midnight.
Reham Khan married Imran Khan in 2015 and divorced him ten months later. She released her 'tell-all' biography earlier this month, in which she has reportedly made some bold allegations against her former husband.
Pakistan is getting ready for its general elections on 25 July, which will see a face-off between Imran Khan's PTI and the incumbent Shehbaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
