A video of what appears to be missiles being launched into the sky is being shared on social media platforms as recent visuals from Pakistan, amid increased tensions between India and Pakistan.
What are the facts?: The claim is false. This video is actually a simulation and has been available on the internet since February 2022.
How did we find that out?: We went through the official X handle of Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact-checking wing and found that the video was termed as "fake".
The post was shared on 9 May and its caption mentioned that the clip was a Pakistani propaganda.
It added that the viral clip is a simulation and is at least three-years-old.
The post further carried the link of the original YouTube video, which showed the same visuals.
The visuals were shared on a verified YouTube channel named 'Compared Comparison'.
It was published on 19 February 2022 and was titled, "Massive Artillery fire at Night - MLRS - Barrage - Military Simulation - ArmA 3."
This made it clear that the video is old and does not show real visuals.
Conclusion: Evidently, the video is an old simulation and is being shared with a false claim.
