A video showing former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar speaking to the agricultural minister from a stage, where he asks about the plight of farmers and how their issues were going to be addressed, is being shared on social media.
The claim: The video is being shared to claim that it shows Dhankhar targeting the government about farmers' condition in India a day before his surprise resignation on 21 July 2025.
The Aam Aadmi Party's Madhya Pradesh wing also shared this claim on their Facebook page.
Is it true?: No, the claim is misleading.
The video dates back to December 2024 and shows Dhankhar speaking at the centenary day celebrations of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT).
How do we know?: A keyword search using the first line of Dhankhar's speech in the video led us to an X post on the Vice President of India's official account.
The post carried a longer version of the video and was published on 3 December 2024.
In the clip, Dhankhar can be heard talking about India's growth, talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi positively, and asking why despite all of this, "the farmer is stressed?"
He goes on to talk about how farmers should get the right price of their crops, calling them helpless.
After this, he says the statement heard in the viral video, where he talks to the agriculture minister, urging him to ensure that the promises made to farmers are fulfilled.
The full video of his speech at the centenary foundation day of ICAR-CIRCOT was shared on the official YouTube channels of Sansad TV and the Vice President of India, which were also published in December 2024.
Nowhere throughout the video does Dhankhar criticise the government or PM Modi.

Conclusion: An old video of former VP Jagdeep Dhankhar is being shared with the misleading claim that it shows him making a statement about farmers' issues a day before he resigned.
