A video recorded from the inside of an airplane, showing the plane's turbine as it takes off, has gone viral on social media platforms.
The claim: Those sharing this clip have claimed that it shows visuals of the Air India plane crash which happened on 12 June in Ahmedabad.
How do we know?: We carried out a reverse image search on some frames of the video using Google Lens.
During this search, Google lens search identified the location as Hong Kong International Airport.
Additionally, it showed us an image on stock image website Alamy, which also noted that it was one of Hong Kong's International Airport.
On comparing this photo to a frame from the viral video, we noticed that they showed similar structures.
We also came across YouTube videos from verified channels which showed planes departing from Hong Kong International Airport.
Cross-checking these visuals with the viral claim showed more similarities between the claim and Hong Kong International Airport.
A similar comparison with visuals on Google Maps and the viral video confirmed that the video shows visuals shot at Hong Kong International Airport and not Ahmedabad.
Conclusion: While we could not independently verify the date or context of the video, we can confirm that the video has no connection to the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.
