A video of a woman in black dress dancing barefoot in the rain has gone viral on social media, where users are linking it to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

The claim: Those sharing this video have claimed that it shows an Iranian woman dancing to send a message to 'send a message' to the Islamic regime in her country.

(Archived versions of more posts sharing this claim can be seen here, here, and here.)

Is it true?: No, the video has been on the internet since 2023 and shows a Georgian influencer who now lives in France.

How do we know?: We carried out a reverse image search using screenshots of the video on Google Lens and Google Images.

  • Google Lens led us to an older version of the video on Instagram, where it was shared on 17 August 2023.

  • We also came across more posts of people sharing it in 2023.

  • Through Google's image search, we found that the video was shared by an influencer's verified Facebook page on 15 March 2025, with a caption in Georgian which identified herself as the person in the video.

  • A closer look at the page showed us that she is a blogger living in Strasbourg, France, who also shares content on TikTok.

  • Using a VPN, we accessed her TikTok account (as it is banned in India) and found that she had first shared the same video on 16 July 2023.

  • The account led us to her Instagram page, which said that her name is Tamta Sabelashvili and she works as a personal trainer in France.

  • Across her accounts, her posts and interactions were in the Georgian language, indicating that she may be of Georgian origin.

Conclusion: An old video of a woman dancing in the rain is being falsely linked to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.
