What have users said?: A Facebook user shared the images with a caption that loosely translated to, "Rahul Gandhi's family celebrating the mourning of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji in a remote Vietnam (sic)."
How did we find that out?: On checking the official social media handles of Rahul Gandhi, we found some of the same visuals uploaded on his Instagram handle on 22 December 2024.
Its caption said, "Family lunch at the iconic Kwality Restaurant. Try the Chole Bhature if you go."
News reports: A report published by The Indian Express mentioned that the Gandhi family was spotted at the Kwality restaurant at the Connaught Place, Delhi.
Other media organisations such as News18 and India Today, too, published similar reports talking about the Gandhi family's visit to the restaurant.
PM Singh's demise: The former Prime Minister passed away at the age of 92 on 26 December 2024. Several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid their respects to the Dr Singh after he passed away.
This clearly indicated that the images of the Gandhi family predated the death of former PM Singh.
Conclusion: It is evident that an unrelated image is being shared on the internet with users linking it to former PM Manmohan Singh's death.
