A viral video on social media claims that Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, while talking to the press said, “UPA government ka anth hona nishchit hai. NDA government aa jaaye ashcharya mat karna.” (Translated: The end of UPA government is definite. If NDA government comes to power, do not be surprised.)
The video, shared by Social Tamasha, had over 42k views in just an hour. The video has also been shared by other pages like Modi Sena and Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar, among others.
BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya too has tweeted the video.
Several social media users have shared the video with an identical narrative on Facebook and Twitter.
TRUE OR FALSE?
It is true that Ashok Gehlot, while talking to the press said that UPA government is definitely going to end and NDA government will come to power for sure. But it was a slip of tongue as seen in the original video of the press conference.
At 0:40 seconds, it can be clearly seen that he realised his mistake and rectified it by saying, “ UPA government ka aana nishchit hai aur jo maha gathbandhan ho raha hai, vo buhut shaandaar tarikey se ho raha hai. Buhut acchi meeting ho rahi hai. Ek meeting ho chuki hai. Sabka sankalp hai ki jo NDA government hai, inka ravaiya jo hai, vishesh roop se do log raaj kar rahe hain – Modi ji aur Amit Shah ji. BJP ka raaj nhi hai desh ke andar.” (Translated: It is certain that the UPA government will come to power and the establishment of maha gathbandhan is in full form. A meeting has been done regarding the same. Everybody is determined that the NDA government is primarily being ruled by two people – Modi ji and Amit Shah ji. BJP has no role to play in the country.)
The viral video is being shared as an edited version of the original video and distorting the truth.
