A video of a woman is going viral online to claim that it shows Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta wielding a sword when she was young.
Gupta, a debutante MLA from Shalimar Bagh, was sworn in as the CM of Delhi on Thursday, 20 February.
How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral video which led us to the original video shared on Instagram.
This was shared by actor Payal Jadhav on 19 February and the caption linked it to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
It did not mention anything about Gupta.
Jadhav also tagged Savysachi Gurukulam for her martial arts training.
We also compared Jadhav in the viral video to Gupta's facial features and noticed no similarities.
Jadhav also added a clarification on her Instagram account mentioning that her visuals are going viral to falsely claim that it shows Gupta.
Conclusion: A video of actor Payal Jadhav wielding sword is being falsely shared as an old video of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta.
