A video of Colonel Sofia Qureshi is going viral which shows her saying, "I am a Muslim but not Pakistani. I am a Muslim but not a terrorist. Terrorism has no religion. I have the courage to kill every terrorist and that too without asking their religion.”
How did we find out the truth?: We performed a keyword search for her speech on Google but did not find nay credible reports carrying this remark and attributing it to Colonel Qureshi.
We then checked her address from 7 May about Operation Sindoor which showed her in the same uniform and in the same background.
However, in this address, she did not remarks the viral quote.
We ran the video through AI-detection tool, Contrails AI, which concluded that there is manipulation in video and audio.
The results also showed that audio clone of Colonel Qureshi has been used to create synthetic audio over the video.
Conclusion: An altered video of Colonel Sofia Qureshi is going viral online to claim that she made a statement about terrorism and religion.
