A video which shows a timeline of Babri Masjid being displayed on a big screen on the streets is going viral on the internet as recent visuals from Bangladesh.
What are users saying?: An X (formerly Twitter) premium user shared the clip with a caption saying, "The demolition of Babri Masjid is being shown by installing big screens in Bangladesh, To instigate the Muslim community towards Hindus and cause terrible bloodshed..."
(More archives of similar claims can be found here, here, and here.)
What is the truth?: The viral claim is false as the video is unrelated to Bangladesh.
It actually shows visuals from Maharashtra's Thane, where Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) had hosted a screening on Babri Masjid.
Hints in the viral video: A closer look at the video showed the text "Social Democratic Party of India" at the bottom of the big screen. This indicated a possibility of the video being unrelated to Bangladesh.
Taking this forward, we performed a reverse image search on the keyframes of the clip and found similar visuals uploaded on the X handle of SDPI Mumbra Kalwa.
It was published on 6 December and its caption said, "Babri Masjid Timeline Exhibition | SDPI Mumbra at Darul Falah | A Journey Through History."
The location was identified as Darul Falah.
On going through the handle, we found another post that showed glimpses from the exhibition.
It was uploaded on 7 December. The video's caption said, "SDPI Mumbra hosts an exhibition on the Babri Masjid timeline, uncovering the history and significance of this Black Day."
Comparing visuals: Team WebQoof searched for Darul Farah on Google Maps and found visuals of a mosque using the 'street view' option, which was also spotted in the second video shared by the SDPI's handle.
Conclusion: Evidently, the video is from Maharashtra and unrelated to Bangladesh.
