What we found: At first, we noticed the smooth texture of the images which was an indicator that the image could be created using AI.

  • We noticed discrepancies such as the distorted logos of the team's name and other brand companies on the jerseys.

  • Using AI-detection tools such as Hive Moderation and Sightengine, we found that the images were "likely" deep fake or AI-generated. Sightengine gave 99 per cent that the image contained face manipulation and Hive Moderation was 66.6 per cent.

  • Here are the results by Sightengine.

  • Additionally, the IPL 2025 has not started yet. It is scheduled to begin on 22 March.

  • There are no official images shared by the handles of either of the public figures in which they are seen together.

Conclusion: AI-generated images of Padukone and Dhoni in CSK jerseys have gone viral as real.
