Fact-Check: Is This a ‘New Seven Star Hotel’ in Dubai? No, It’s AI!

The video was first shared by an Instagram page called 'Cypriot AI'.

A video showing an aeroplane on top of a skyscraper and a luxury hotel is being shared on social media, with users claiming that it shows a "new seven star hotel" in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

We also received a query to verify this claim on our WhatsApp tipline.

Is it true?: No, the claim is false as the video was made using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and does not show real visuals.

How do we know?: A simple reverse image search on the video led us to an Instagram account named 'Cypriot.ai', which had first shared this video on 21 August.

• Sharing the post with hashtags about AI and 'AI Art', the caption said, "Imagine — ai meets architecture, aiart becomes reality (sic)."

• The account's bio also mentioned that it shared "AI Travel & Luxury Concepts" and created "Branded AI concepts" for businesses.

• Hive Moderation's AI-generated content detection tool confirmed that the video was made using AI, giving it a 99.9 percent score for being "likely to contain AI generated or deepfake content."

Conclusion: An AI-generated video is being shared to falsely claim that it shows real visuals of a new hotel in Dubai.
