How did we find out the truth?: Firstly, we checked PM Modi's official social media accounts and did not find any visuals shared by him.
On performing a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the video, we did not find any credible news coverage that would support the claim.
We noticed a few errors in the viral video, for example, when PM Modi folds his hands, his fingers disrupt each other unnaturally.
We then ran the video through AI detection tool, Contrails AI, and the results confirmed that this video has been created using AI technology and is not real.
The report also concluded that this a complete AIGC (AI-Generated Content) video including the audio.
Sight Engine, an AI detection tool, also detected manipulation in the screenshots from this video.
We also checked the Instagram account (@danish_rana_96) who shared this video and found several similar AI-generated images of PM Modi wearing a skull cap.
We have reached out to the user for more input about the visuals and the story will be updated once we receive a response.
Conclusion: An AI-generated video of PM Modi wearing a skull cap and praying is being shared as real.
