Soon after Priyanka Gandhi marked her entry into active politics, husband Robert Vadra took to Facebook to congratulate and wish her well.
Gandhi was appointed the All India Congress Committee General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East on Wednesday, 23 January.
Vadra put out a photo of the two with the caption: “Congratulations P... always by your side in every phase of your life. Give it your best.”
As incharge for eastern UP, Priyanka will manage the campaign for the party in Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi parliamentary constituency, which falls in the region.
Elsewhere, Jyotiraditya Scindia was appointed AICC general secretary for UP West, a party spokesperson said.
The party also replaced Ashok Gehlot as AICC general secretary organisation with KC Venugopal.
Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad was appointed AICC general secretary in charge of Haryana, the party said.
Priyanka Gandhi will take over as AICC general secretary for UP East in the first week of February, the party said.
