A little more than a week after he lost out to the Congress by the thinnest of margins in Madhya Pradesh state election, former chief minister of the state Shivraj Singh Chouhan has metaphorically let out a roar.

While meeting his supporters on his last night at the chief minister’s residence late on Wednesday, he said “Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai” (The tiger is still alive), reported Indian Express. For the uninitiated, actor Salman Khan featured in a movie by the same name.

As his supporters cheered him, Chouhan went on to say, “Maybe it will not take an entire five years, maybe I will be back sooner than you expect,” the Indian Express report stated.

The Congress emerged as the single largest party in the 230-seat Assembly in Madhya Pradesh by securing a victory in 114 seats, falling two seats short of the majority mark. The BJP trailed at 109.

Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and four independents have lent their support to the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in the state.
