Shashi Tharoor Suffers Head Injuries During Temple Visit

Tharoor has received six stitches on his head and is currently stable.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor suffered head injuries after suffering a fall while offering prayers in a temple in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, 15 April. He was admitted to a hospital and is currently stable, reports said.

Tharoor was reportedly participating in a thulabaram ceremony, a traditional practice where a person is weighed on scales against gold, grain or fruits. The equivalent weight is offered as donation, reported The News Minute.

While Tharoor was participating in the ceremony, the weighing scale he was sitting on broke and the hook support came loose and struck him on the head.

Tharoor also suffered a minor leg injury from the fall, PTI reported.
