Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates: Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day on Monday, 24 July, even as Opposition MPs protested against the suspension of Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh for the remainder of the Monsoon Session.
The Opposition also demanded the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament to discuss the unrest in Manipur.
"We are ready for discussion in Parliament," said Union Minister Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha amid the ruckus.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh was suspended for the remaining period of the Monsoon Session for alleged unruly behaviour in the House and "for repeatedly violating the directives of the Chair," Rajya Sabha chairperson Jagdeep Dhankar said. The action was demanded by Union Minister Piyush Goyal who moved a motion to suspend Singh after he protested in the well of the House.
The Opposition MPs earlier protested with placards and sloganeering at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah said amid sloganeering by the Opposition that he was ready to discuss the Manipur issue in Parliament.
Congress MPs Manickam Tagore, Manish Tewari, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha and few others earlier moved an adjournment of business motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the "ethnic clashes taking place in Manipur."

'Ready for Discussion': Amit Shah
"I am ready for discussion on this in the House. I request the Opposition to let a discussion take place on this issue. It is important that the country gets to know the truth on this sensitive matter," Home Minister Amit Shah said in Lok Sabha on Manipur issue.
'Unfortunate': Raghav Chadha on Sanjay Singh's Suspension
"This is not right, it is against the spirit of democracy. After the House was adjourned, we went to the Chairman and requested him to revoke this suspension. Even during the BAC meeting, we all walked out as we were not being heard at all. The Chairman should talk to the MPs. and have healthy discussions," said AAP MP Raghav Chadha.
