1. Urmila’s Rally Disrupted By Modi Chants Again
Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar’s campaign rally was disrupted by a group of men shouting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name for the second day in a row.
Ms. Matondkar, who is the Congress candidate for Mumbai North, was scheduled to begin her campaign from Malad (East) and go up to Kandivali (East) on Tuesday. A video of the incident, which was later widely circulated on social media, shows some men loudly chanting Mr. Modi’s name as soon as Ms. Matondkar’s rally entered the populated Diamond Market area in Malad.

2. PDP, NC Should Not Be Part Of NDA After Elections: Shiv Sena
The Shiv Sena said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must ensure that Jammu and Kashmir’s PDP and NC should not be part of the NDA after the Lok Sabha polls irrespective of the election outcome on May 23.
“Irrespective of what happens in the number game tomorrow to form the government, there should be no tie-up with those who are talking about dividing the country. Those who have ruined three generations of Kashmiris, none of them should be given place in the Modi Cabinet or in the NDA,” said Sena in an editorial in the party mouthpiece Saamana.

3. Mumbai FOB Collapse: Arrested BMC Engineer Blames Beautification, A Ward
The BMC executive engineer, arrested for his alleged role in the collapse of the foot overbridge (FOB) outside CSMT last month, has put the blame on beautification of the bridge in 2017. Seven persons died and over 30 were injured when the FOB collapsed on March 14.
Anil Patil, the 53-year-old executive engineer in BMC’s bridges department, was arrested by Azad Maidan police on April 2. Last week, his bail plea was rejected by the magistrate court, following which he approached the sessions court.

4. Sack Mumbai Medical College’s Warden For Moral Policing: Probe Panel
The government committee investigating allegations of moral policing at Grant Medical College (GMC), has recommended that one warden be sacked with immediate effect for enforcing regressive rules and that the dean of Sir JJ Hospital make an effort to engage with students. GMC is affiliated to Sir JJ Hospital.
In March, students of GMC alleged that Dr Ajay Chandanwale, dean of Sir JJ Hospital, had prohibited male and female students who live on campus from talking to each other after college hours. They also complained that the warden of the girls’ hostel, Shilpa Patil, insisted on a dress code during the college festival Astitva, which is held in March.

5. Thunderstorm Alert In Isolated Places In Maharashtra Today: IMD
The Met department has issued a thunderstorm alert in isolated places of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha for April 17. The thunderstorm will be accompanied by gusty winds and lightning, said officials from India Meteorological Department (IMD).
While it has forecast rain in isolated pockets of Vidarbha, Mumbai is likely to see a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of the development of thunder and lightning in the next 24 hours.
