The Prime Minister is feeling a little glum these days. His complaint?
I say namaste to you every morning on NaMo App (but) only four or five of you respond.
This is what the PM said during the weekly party meeting on Thursday, sources were quoted telling Hindustan Times.
With 276 members in the Lok Sabha and 57 in the Rajya Sabha, clearly they are not catching on to the PM’s digital India plans as they are not responding to his messages on the NaMo App.
A social media afficianado, Modi told his MPs to get cracking and interact with him through the app on issues they felt were important.
The NaMo app allows Modi to send mails and messages to people. Users can also post messages back that the PM can read.
Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State representing Udhampur in the Sabha, told the MPs about a new feature that would allow them to interact directly with the Prime Minister, sources said.
MPs were given an introduction to the app and its working after the meeting ending.
“We are creating a new group which will include all MPs to share their ideas with the Prime Minister and other colleagues,” a BJP leader said.
During the recent Gujarat elections, the Modi used the app to interact with party workers. He has repeatedly prodded his MPs to get active on the app and to share the updates of the government from it with the people.
They have also been asked to share feedback from social media and to share the government’s success stories.
