Amid deadlock over the government formation in Maharashtra, Sanjay Raut on Monday, 11 November said that the BJP was “arrogant” enough to sit in the Opposition but wasn’t willing to honour promises made before the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP on Sunday refused to stake claim to the government in the state, following which Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited Shiv Sena to indicate their willingness to form the government in the state.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on Monday announced his resignation as Union Minister (Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises).

Hasn't Discussed Sena Minister's Resignation With Anyone: Pawar

Sharad Pawar, while speaking to the media said that he has not discussed the resignation of Sena’s Union Minister Arvind Sawant.

“I haven't had a word with anyone regarding anyone’s resignation.We'll have a word with Congress today. Whatever decision is to be taken will be taken only after discussions with Congress,” he said.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday, 11 November said that the BJP was “arrogant” enough to sit in the Opposition but wasn’t willing to honour promises made before the Lok Sabha polls.

“It is BJP's arrogance that they are refusing to form government in Maharashtra. It is an insult to the people of Maharashtra. They are willing to sit in opposition, but they are reluctant to follow the 50-50 formula, for which they agreed before polls,” he said.
