Counting of Votes Begins for Mungaoli and Kolaras Bypolls

Counting for the seats of Mungaoli and Kolaras in Madhya Pradesh and Bijepur in Odisha began at 8 am on Wednesday, 28 Febraury. The elections for all three Assembly seats were held on 24 February, with a voter turnout of above 70 percent.

The Congress won the Kolaras Assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh, defeating the BJP by a margin of 8,086 votes.

Reacting to his party’s victory in Mungaoli, Jyotiraditya Scindia said:

People have taken a decision. It’s victory of truth & development. MP ki janta ne mann bana liya hai BJP ki rawangi ka. The government which had not seen the face of Mungaoli in 14 years camped there with their entire cabinet during election.

Senior Congress leader and MP form Madhya Pradesh Jyotiraditya Scindia congratulated Brijendra Singh Yadav on his victory in Mungaoli. He also thanked the Congress party workers, and voters for reposing their faith in the party.
