Voting for the Mungaoli and Kolaras Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh began on the morning of Saturday, 24 February. The bypolls to the two Assembly constituencies are being seen as a litmus test for the state Assembly elections to be held later in the year.
The Mungaoli and Kolaras Assembly constituencies come under the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, which is held by Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.
- Voting for the Mungaoli and Kolaras Assembly seats began at 8 am on 24 February and is expected to conclude by 5 pm
- The counting of votes will be held on 28 February
- The bypolls were necessitated due to the death of Congress MLAs Mahendra Singh Kalukheda (Mungaoli) and Ram Singh Yadav (Kolaras)
- A total of 22 candidates are in the fray in Kolaras while 13 are trying their luck in Mungaoli
- Scindia has reportedly dubbed the contest as not between the BJP and the Congress, but between “Shivraj Singh Chouhan and me”
Voter Turnout Till 5 PM: 58.75% in Kolaras and 69.35% in Mungaoli
Kolaras Assembly constituency has recorded 58.75 percent voter turnout, while Mungaoli has recorded 69.35 percent turnout till 5 pm.
Voter Turnout Till 1 PM: 44.84% in Kolaras and 47.01% in Mungaoli
Kolaras Assembly constituency has recorded 44.84 percent voter turnout, while Mungaoli has recorded 47.01 percent turnout till 1 pm. The Bijepur Assembly constituency recorded 38 voter turnout till 1 pm, Times of India reported.
Voter Turnout Till 10 AM: 16% in Kolaras and 17% in Mungaoli
Kolaras Assembly constituency has recorded 16 percent voter turnout, while Mungaoli has recorded 17 percent turnout till 10 am.
