Unruly scenes were witnessed at AICC President Rahul Gandhi's rally venue at Malda on Saturday when restive party supporters threw chairs and broke the barricade of the VIP enclousure.

The incident took place when Congress activists who had arrived at the venue from the nearby districts tried to barge into the inner ring of the rally ground, leading to commotion.

Ashok Chavan Hints At Quitting Congress in Leaked Audio Clip
In a now viral audio clip, Maharasthra Congress chief Ashok Chavan can be heard telling a a party worker that he is considering quitting the post owing to differences over the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat.
The party has given a ticket to Vinayak Bangade.
In the audio clip, a disgruntled Chavan can allegedly be heard saying “No one listens to me, I am considering quitting the party,” reported Mumbai Mirror.
Meanwhile, speaking to a news channel, Chavan said that though he had not heard the audio clip, his differences over the Chandrapur seat had ben relayed to the party high command, adding that the leaked conversation was private and "an internal matter."

Stop All Advertisements Featuring Hema Malini: RLD Writes to EC
The Rashtriya Lok Dal Saturday urged the Election Commission to stop all advertisements featuring cine star Hema Malini, who has been renominated as BJP candidate from Mathura.
In a letter addressed to Chief Electoral Officer of UP L Venkateshwarlu, RLD spokesperson Anil Dubey said, “The advertisements of a water purifying machine featuring cine star Hema Malini are appearing in various media. This is a blatant violation of model code of conduct, as in the advertisement she appeals to the public to use the water purified by the said water purifying machine.” Dubey said, "Either the advertisement should be stopped on all media or the cost of the advertisements should be added to the election expenses of Hema Malini.”
When contacted, UP's chief electoral officer L Venkateshwarlu told PTI a decision in the matter will be taken soon.
