The Janata Dal (United) received a major setback in Arunachal Pradesh with 6 of its 7 MLAs in the state legislative Assembly jumping ship to the BJP. A notification issued by the state Assembly made the announcement.
The lone MLA from the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) also joined the saffron brigade.
This development comes a day ahead of the announcement of municipal and panchayat polls in the state.
