The counting of votes in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana would be held on 11 December, the Chief Election Commissioner said on Saturday, 6 October.
The Assembly election in Chhattisgarh would be held in two phases – on 12 and 20 November.
In Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram, the polls would be held on 28 November. And in Telangana and Rajasthan, the elections would be held on 7 December.

- The bypolls in Shimoga, Bellary and Mandya in Karnataka would be held on 3 November, the CEC said

Speaking after the announcement of election dates for MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the "BJP will contest elections in a conclusive and decisive manner" and shall repeat their victory in the states "very convincingly".
